7 Cocktail Recipes You Need In Your Life This Summer

Everyone knows that I’m a big social drinker. I love a good cocktail along with good vibes and good people. I drink at social events, work outings but most importantly college house parties. My friends and I are notorious for our expertise in spirits. We have fun mixing and matching different drinks together for a good time. I’ve come to be known as the bartender amongst my friends. Drinking is definitely a social activity that can make you the go-to person at the parties when you know how to do it right. Check out these seven cocktail recipes that you can pull at the next summer function.

1. Jim Beam Apple Mule

  • 2 parts Jim Beam®Apple, Apple Liqueur with Bourbon
  • 4 mint leaves (1 bundle)
  • 1/2 part Apple Cider
  • Fill with ginger beer

Jim Beam Apple is a liqueur made from fresh pressed apples combined with Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. It is really good you can get a bottle of it for about $15-$25 depending on where you buy it. It’s the best-tasting bourbon out there.  Take the JB Apple and make a mule out of it, doing so will give you one of the most refreshing, tasty cocktails ever.

 2. Vodka-Tonic

  •  2 parts Tito’s Vodka
  • 4 ounces of tonic water
  • 2 splashes of lime juice

A Vodka tonic is a classic, modest drink that will get you there and taste delicious. When creating a vodka-tonic the kind of Vodka that you use is important. Some people like to be “grand” and use Grey Goose, not a good idea for a college student. Grey Goose is rather expensive and can be switched out for Tito’s Vodka, a more cost efficient choice and taste amazing. Make sure you chill the vodka over ice, place it in the glass, add the tonic water on top and squeeze in two splashes of lime juice. Yum!

3. Honey-Whiskey Lemonade

  • 5 Tbsp Jack Daniel’s Honey Whiskey
  • 1/2 cup Simply Lemonade
  • 1 Tbsp of lime juice
  • splash of honey (optional)

With the release of Beyonce’s Lemonade, everyone was trying to find cocktails that had Lemonade in them, I know I was. One of my favorites is a Honey-Whiskey Lemonade. Always start with ice, then add your whiskey, top it off with lemonade to about a second away from the rim then splash some lime juice on top. You won’t be sorry drinking this one.

4. Gin & Juice

  • 5 Tbsp of Seagram’s Lime Twisted Gin
  • 1/2 cup of Arizona Green Tea
  • 1 Tbsp of lime juice

Gin is one of my favorites. It’s cheap and it gets the job done. For those nights on a low budget, grab yourself a bottle of Seagram’s Lime Twisted Gin which you can get for $14, a $1 Arizona Green Tea and a squeezable lime juice which you can also get for a dollar.  As always, Ice first, then liquor, then your chaser and lastly top it off with lime juice. Easy, Cheap and gets you turnt.

5. Amsterdam Mango Sunrise

  • 1½ parts New Amsterdam® Mango
  • 2 parts orange juice
  • A splash of lemon-lime soda

Vodka is a fan favorite amongst college students. When you can’t afford Grey Goose  or Titos, Amsterdam is a good choice. You can get a bottle of Mango Amsterdam for no more than $15. Grab yourself a bottle of Sprite and get the party started. After you’ve gathered the ingredients shake the vodka sunrise ingredients together in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Strain this mango vodka into a glass filled with ice.

6.  E&J Apple Cocktail

  • 4.5 oz Hard Apple Cider
  • 1.5 oz E&J Apple Brand
  • lemon juice

College students love some E&J, it’s a dark, it tastes good and it doesn’t cost as much as Jack Daniels or Crown Royal Apple. To create this delicious drink, pour all liquid into a large glass, stir, and garnish with a squeeze of lemon. Very simple!

7. Vodka & Coke

  • 1½ parts Pinnacle Whipped Vodka
  • 2 parts Coke or Pepsi
  • A cherry garnish

This is one of my favorite drinks when I’m drinking with ladies. Women love a drink that tastes sweet but isn’t too strong. This is a good one. You can get a huge bottle of Pinnacle whipped for no more than $20, get a bottle of Pepsi or Coke for $2.50 and some cherries to place on top. Perfect evening drink especially when drinking with lady friends. 😉
