Chris Sumlin

Born on January 7th, in Dayton, Ohio. Christopher Michael Sumlin was born destined for Greatness. He comes from a tight-knit family; he is the second oldest of four children. Chris has two brothers and a younger sister. He grew up in a Christian household in Columbus, OH. His father was a minister, and church was the basis of Chris’ young adult life. At age 14, Chris attended a high school called The Charles School at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus. With the love and support of family and mentors, Chris graduated from the school in five years, earning both his high school diploma and Associate of Arts degree from Ohio Dominican University.

As a television scholar in 2015, Chris interned at both FOX Studios and the BET Awards in Los Angeles, California. During his time in Los Angeles, Chris spent a lot of time alone reflecting and studying self-help books. His adventures inspired him to write his debut book, “Dealing With This Thing Called Life,” which was released on April 6th, 2016. In 2017, Chris graduated from the historic Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, earning a bachelor’s degree in Cinema, Television & Emerging Media Studies. His time at Morehouse lead him to write his second book, “Dealing With This Thing Called College,” which was released in February of 2018.

On January 25th, 2019, Chris earned his third college degree, a Master’s of Science in Television, from Boston University.

On April 14th, 2021, Chris published his third book, “Halfway Thru My 20’s”, a self-help book for young adults. Today Chris spends his time writing blogs on his website, speaking to students all over the country, and creating content that inspires people to dream big.
